SCREEN PRINTING (SHORT-TERM GIG)

Good Fire is a new Sonoma County-based social enterprise that repurposes wood from local wildfire-mitigation efforts into packaged firewood. Our first run of hand-printed boxes sold out, and we’re now preparing our next batch for delivery.

We’re looking for local students with screen-printing experience to support a short-term production project. We’ll provide all materials, guidance, and support throughout the project.

Printing can take place in our Healdsburg workspace, in a school printmaking studio (with faculty permission), or another location that meets basic safety and ventilation standards.

What You'll Do

  • Screen print on kraft corrugated boxes using provided screens, ink, and materials

  • Maintain consistency and quality throughout the production run

  • Contribute to a local wildfire-resilience project in its early stage

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with screen printing (coursework or personal practice)

  • Comfortable printing on non-textile surfaces

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow a production workflow

  • Interested in real-world production experience within a growing social enterprise

Compensation

This is a paid, short-term student position. Compensation is based on a piece-rate structure ($1 per printed box), with an estimated range of $15–$30/hour depending on pace and experience.

Total run size is whatever you’re up for. Ideally looking for 500 to 1000 or more.

Additional Opportunity

NBC Bay Area is planning to shoot a segment on Good Fire next month. Depending on timing and studio availability, the student assisting with this project may be included in the story.
